On January 4, 2012, LSI Corporation completed the acquisition of SandForce, Inc., the leading provider of flash storage processors for enterprise, cloud and client flash solutions and solid state drives (SSDs). SandForce became the Flash Components Division of LSI.

Adding the SandForce technology into LSI storage portfolio, opens new opportunities for LSI to gain an industry-leading position in the rapidly growing market for flash storage and SSD processors in the ultrabook, notebook, enterprise and cloud computing segments.
