Design Managers (ASIC/Verification Teams)
SandForce has immediate openings for hands-on Design Managers for our ASIC and Verification teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage ASIC RTL Design and Verification team developing complex digital circuits
- Deliver high quality designs
- Project planning, work estimation and schedule development
- Track schedules and cross-functional deliverables
Requirements:
- Must have successfully managed ASIC designs from architecture to production
- Expert knowledge of fabless ASIC methodology
- Dynamic and Aggressive management style
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to identify and manage risk
- At least 4 years of experience as Design Manager
- Experience managing projects with teams of 10-15 engineers
- BSEE required, MSEE preferred

Sr. Software/Firmware Engineer
SandForce has immediate openings for senior level Software/Firmware Engineers to
design, document and test high performance firmware algorithms for SoC Storage Processor.
Responsibilities:
- Design & document high performance firmware algorithms to manage & interact with HW, handle errors and exception conditions.
- Implement and verify firmware on embedded system.
- Debug firmware and system issues.
- Optimization of firmware and system to meet performance requirements
Requirements:
- 5+ years relevant work experience
- Must have demonstrated expertise in design and implementation of event driven real time firmware using C (or C++)
- Understanding of RTOS concepts including task switching, deadlocks, and resource management issues
- Firmware/System debug skills utilizing Debugger, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer etc. in Lab environment
- Experience developing and debugging high quality SoC solutions
- BS in Software or electrical engineering
- Goal oriented and adherence to schedule
- Ability to work as team player
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Flash, Storage systems or disk drive technology background
- Experience in consumer or enterprise storage field
- SATA, SAS, SCSI, FC or PCIe experience
Senior Applications Engineers
SandForce has immediate openings for senior level Applications Engineers to support customer qualification and design efforts for a family of highly complex, industry-leading storage IC products.
Responsibilities:
- Expert technical customer account management
- System analysis in both in-house & customer lab environments
- Development of detailed technical documents
- Customer design review and guidance
- Errata investigation, work-around identification, customer issue management
- Feature definition for new products
- System-level device characterization, including Signal Integrity (SI), etc.
- Occasional travel required
Requirements:
- 5 -15 years’ experience in Applications or System Engineering, or equivalent
- Technical IC product support experience
- OEM customer support background highly desirable
- Technical documentation expertise
- System design expertise, (PCB and system level)
- Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer, & Oscilloscope skills
- Ability to read schematics (schematic design skills a plus)
- Electronics Engineering academic background or equivalent
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Storage systems or disk drive technology background (consumer or enterprise)
- Experience with serial link technology (SATA, SAS, FC, PCIe, etc)
