Overview

SandForce SF-1500 SSD Processors enable commodity flash memory to reliably operate in enterprise storage applications. The SF-1500 SSD Processors’ innovative DuraClass technology address the very complex limitations of NAND flash memory to greatly extend the endurance and overall reliability of SSDs with maximized read and write performance.

Endurance and Longevity

As each generation of flash memory evolves and the silicon geometries shrink, endurance, data retention and reliability are negatively impacted. DuraWrite technology, optimizes writes to the flash memory over conventional controllers without costly complex DRAM caching requirements.

Performance

SSDs are technically capable of outperforming traditional HDDs, but the endurance limitations of flash memory requires standard controllers to limit the write speed in order to extend SSD life. DuraClass technology enables the SSD to maximize both the endurance and write performance for the life of the drive fulfilling the promise of high speed flash memory in enterprise applications.

Security

DuraClass technology automatically stores data in a secure, AES-128 encrypted format. This also prevents would-be thieves from extracting data directly from the flash memory should they ever have access to the drive.

Data Protection and Reliability

SF-1500 SSD Processors provide up to 100x greater data protection than today's SSDs, and leading enterprise HDDs. This is a result of superior ECC protection and unique RAISE™ (Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements) technology. RAISE provides the protection and reliability of RAID on a single drive without the significant write overhead of parity.
